About The Position

Clerical Duties as assigned, bilingual interpreter, registration attendance, data reporting, works in OMSIS for migrant student tracking. Understands cultural components and works collaboratively with team members. Strong communication skills, ability to build relationships with students and parents. Fluency in English and strong fluency in Spanish; understanding of the experiences and living conditions of migrant society; ability to work with a diverse population of studens ad parents; ability to maintain accurate records; commitment to attend all staff in-service meetings and fulfill all dates of employment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and may be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Works in a classroom environment in close proximity to students and other adults. May encounter students with emotional problems or hostile attitudes. May be required to use a telephone and operate a computer. Summer School July 8, 2024 - August 2, 2024, plus 4 hours of paid prep. 7 hours per day, when school is in session July 1, 2026 - August 1, 2026. Requirements

  • Bilingual
  • in-depth knowledge of the Migrant program and policy
  • Fluency in English and strong fluency in Spanish
  • understanding of the experiences and living conditions of migrant society
  • ability to work with a diverse population of studens ad parents
  • ability to maintain accurate records
  • commitment to attend all staff in-service meetings and fulfill all dates of employment
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License and automobile insurance
  • Ability to write clear and concise communications in English and Spanish
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but basic, written or oral instructions in English
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents and community
