Goals of this program include: Develop interest in public service through employment with TAMIU and be assigned to local non-profit, government, or community-based organizations. Apply skills and theories gained through coursework to solve problems and explore issues outside the classroom. Enhance career competencies, such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and leadership. Articulate how experiences will shape personal, academic, and professional pursuits. South Texas Food Bank is seeking a reliable, service-oriented Program Intern to support daily operations and direct client services. This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, community engagement, and public service while directly supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity in South Texas. The Program Intern plays a critical role in ensuring efficient food distribution, accurate record-keeping, and positive client experiences—particularly when serving elderly and vulnerable populations.
