About The Position

The Federal Charter Schools Program Grants Manager serves as a key leader within the Minnesota Department of Education, focusing on the implementation and management of federal grants for charter schools. This role involves providing technical assistance, training, and guidance to charter schools, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and fostering relationships among stakeholders to enhance the quality and sustainability of charter school programs in Minnesota.

Requirements

• 5 years of professional experience OR a bachelor's degree and 4 years of professional experience in grants management, charter schools, compliance monitoring, and related laws and regulations.
• Experience in grants management, charter schools, compliance monitoring, and knowledge of laws, rules, statutes, and regulations related to these areas.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with budgets
• Experience with federal and/or state government grants/accounting
• Familiarity with Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT)

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and update CSP Grant processes and documentation in alignment with state and federal requirements.
• Provide leadership, technical assistance, and guidance in the implementation and management of the federal CSP grant, including the subgrant program.
• Manage MDE's CSP sub-grant portfolio through negotiations and grant monitoring to ensure accountability and sustainability of grantees.
• Participate in mandatory federal reporting requirements.
• Provide leadership and partnership for charter schools, authorizers, and MDE staff through training programs and communication of best practices.
• Administer and manage grants and contracts through the CSP Grant, ensuring accountability for the use of federal funds.
• Review and provide feedback on grantee work products and processes to meet CSP project performance measures.
