About The Position

As a Federal Assurance Design Principal at QTS, you are responsible for overseeing design and construction of an enterprise security program designed to provide world-class security and compliance to ensure all federal requirements are met from concept through operations. You play a critical role in the review and construction of future data center sites and secure data hall projects. You will interact with and lead a wide level of QTS, customer, and government stakeholders throughout the planning, design, construction and accreditation of secure facilities. You will manage in-depth design reviews, countermeasure selection, risk management, submittal and RFI review process for multiple concurrent construction projects. You will also assist the Federal Assurance Project Managers with inspection support and accreditation related documentation for all QTS federal data center projects throughout the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in physical and/or technical security leading complex projects, with specific emphasis on architectural design, submittals and RFI reviews.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in all facets of secure construction as it relates to SCIF or SAPF Design, architecture, design, engineering, construction, construction administration, project management, life safety and disability access, acoustic protections, electronic security systems (CCTV, IDS, ACS) and TEMPEST mitigations.
  • Thorough knowledge of, understanding of, and experience implementing Intelligence Community Directive 705 and associated documents.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication at both the working level and executive level.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for additional accesses as needed.
  • US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Architecture.
  • 15+ years of experience in physical and/or technical security leading complex projects, with specific emphasis on architectural design, submittals and RFI reviews.
  • Experience working as a Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority, Accrediting Official (AO) or member of AO staff.
  • Active TS security clearance with eligibility for additional accesses as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall design review process for all Federal secure facilities to ensure all federal requirements are met from concept through operations.
  • Leads in the review and construction of future data center sites and secure data hall projects.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across multiple geographies.
  • Assist with the site construction security procedures in conjunction with site security team.
  • Create and communicate project updates on a regular basis suitable for executive level reviews.
  • Effectively present information in a manner to support efficient decision making to all levels of QTS management and external partners.
  • Effectively engage with QTS design, construction, and operations teams to ensure all security requirements are addressed.
  • Develop scopes of work and requests for proposals for design and construction.
  • Assist in evaluation of potential new sites on an as-needed basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for 8-12 hours.
