About The Position

Commdex is seeking a Federal Account Executive dedicated to DHS to expand and manage relationships across CBP operational components and DHS stakeholders. This role focuses on supporting current contracts, growing revenue from existing contracts and developing new opportunities based on our existing contracts and company capability. The ideal candidate understands CBP & CISAs operational mission , acquisition pathways, and field structure, and can translate operational requirements into deployable communications and systems solutions. As a Federal Account Executive , you will be tasked with… Customer Engagement & Account Ownership Own and grow Commdex’s relationship with CBP headquarters, sectors, ports of entry, air & marine operations, and mission support offices Build trusted relationships with: CBP operational leadership Field commanders and end users DHS / CBP contracting officers (KOs) Program managers and acquisition personnel Maintain regular on-site presence at CBP locations to support mission understanding and solution alignment Solution Selling & Mission Support Identify CBP operational challenges related to: Border security communications Remote and austere environment connectivity Interoperable voice and data systems Resilient infrastructure for ports of entry and mobile operations Position Commdex solutions aligned to CBP mission needs including: Public safety and law enforcement communications Network infrastructure and systems integration Mission-critical voice and data environments Act as a solutions advisor , not a transactional seller Federal Acquisition & Contracting Support Understand and support CBP acquisition methods including: DHS and CBP contract vehicles Task orders, IDIQs, and BPA structures Funding cycles and mission-driven procurement timing Assist CBP stakeholders in identifying optimal contract and funding pathways Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with federal procurement requirements Sales Execution & Pipeline Management Develop and execute CBP-focused account strategies to meet annual revenue targets Identify, qualify, and book CBP opportunities Generate accurate quotes and proposals aligned with CBP requirements Provide monthly pipeline forecasts and account updates to leadership Monitor CBP-specific market trends, competitors, and emerging mission needs Cross-Functional Coordination Partner with internal operations, engineering, logistics, and finance teams to ensure: Accurate order processing On-time delivery High-quality execution Follow through post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and operational success RESPONSIBILITIES Federal Market Development Identify and pursue civilian agency sales opportunities through GSA schedules, IDIQs, and OASIS contract vehicles Generate leads through federal networking events, industry days, and partner relationships Maintain relationships with DOI, USCG, FEMA, and other civilian agency stakeholders Monitor GovWin/SAM and other federal opportunity sources for relevant civilian agency solicitations Account Management & Business Development Build and nurture relationships with civilian agency decision-makers and procurement officers Develop account plans for targeted agencies, with focus on DOI, USCG, and FEMA Coordinate capture strategy for major civilian opportunities Lead teaming agreements and strategic partnership development with complementary solution providers Sales Process Management Conduct briefings and demonstrations for civilian agency stakeholders Develop compelling capability statements and civilian agency-focused presentations Lead responses to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in coordination with proposal teams Manage complex federal sales cycles from identification through award Internal Collaboration Work with engineering and technical teams to develop civilian agency solution offerings Coordinate with contracts team on civilian procurement requirements Collaborate with project management on delivery expectations Partner with small business liaison for set-aside opportunities Compliance & Reporting Maintain accurate records of all civilian sales activities in SalesForce Ensure compliance with federal sales and procurement regulations Generate regular pipeline and forecast reports for civilian opportunities Track contract vehicle usage and task order management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–5 years of successful outside sales experience supporting federal, DHS, CBP, or law enforcement customers
  • Demonstrated experience selling into CBP, DHS, or comparable federal operational agencies
  • Strong understanding of: Federal sales cycles, Government acquisition processes, Mission-driven buying behavior
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both field operators and senior leadership
  • Salesforce or CRM experience preferred
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing complex accounts
  • Willing and able to travel extensively (up to 75%)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CBP, DHS, or federal law enforcement experience
  • Experience supporting: Border security operations, Public safety or law enforcement communications, Mission-critical or C5ISR-adjacent systems
  • Familiarity with CBP operational environments such as: Ports of entry, Border sectors, Air & Marine operations
  • Existing CBP relationships or customer knowledge
