About The Position

The Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is responsible for spearheading the development of strategic initiatives to cultivate and expand relationships with corporate and foundation donors. This role focuses on building a sustainable pipeline of support, aligning donor interests with the hospital's mission and strategic priorities, and securing significant philanthropic commitments to advance various programs and capital needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or foundation relations.
  • Proven track record of securing significant gifts and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and foundation grantmaking processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including corporate executives and foundation officers.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • High level of initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a comprehensive corporate and foundation giving strategy that supports the long-term philanthropic goals of Hoag Hospital Foundation.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts and grants from corporate and foundation donors, managing a portfolio of high-level prospects.
  • Design programs and initiatives to engage partners and foundations, including cause-related marketing and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and program directors to align donor interests with Hoag's strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the communications team to prepare and submit compelling grant proposals and sponsorship requests.
  • Develop a stewardship program to ensure corporate and foundation donors are recognized and informed of their contributions' impact.
  • Engage corporate donors in Hoag's signature fundraising and recognition events, securing sponsorships and support.
  • Cultivate new relationships with local, regional, and national corporations and foundations while maintaining existing partnerships.
  • Track, report, and analyze progress on key performance metrics related to corporate and foundation giving.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage staff to support the corporate and foundation giving initiative.
