About The Position

The Data Processing Manager position is a Selected Exempt Service (SES) role located at the Central Office in Systems Development. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and integrity of the department's database and data administration environment. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems development methodologies, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic data planning. The manager will also supervise a team, ensuring effective communication, training, and evaluation of staff while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Seven (7) or more years of SQL administration experience, with at least five (5) years in a SQL 2012 (or higher) environment.
  • Experience in writing, testing, and executing SQL and T-SQL code.
  • Experience in writing, testing, troubleshooting, and executing SSIS packages.
  • Experience in building SQL views and stored procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university or four (4) years of experience in Management Information Systems or Information Technology.
  • Seven (7) or more years of managing teams of up to ten (10) staff.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and ensure the integrity of the department's database and data administration environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain information systems development methodology (ISDM).
  • Manage and supervise activities, deadlines, and work objectives in the Data Base and Data Administration sections.
  • Develop and monitor technical standards, procedures, and techniques for managing personnel in the Data Base and Data Administration sections.
  • Review, analyze, and establish system priorities and allocate resources in the Data Base and Data Administration sections.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive long-range plan to meet system requirements through capacity planning and performance meetings.
  • Manage a comprehensive unit test plan and clarify objectives of unit testing.
  • Review and implement quality assurance techniques to enhance productivity in systems development.
  • Ensure proper planning, scheduling, and implementation of database reorganizations.
  • Establish a framework for common meta-data standards to improve data resource reliability.
  • Minimize duplication in data collection and processing by facilitating data access and sharing.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to Systems Development and other bureaus.
