About The Position

The Family Service Coordinator/ Family Advocate assists families as they identify and meet their own goals through a family-centered case management model for developing and carrying out the program Family Partnership Agreements, including case management of families being served. The Family Service Coordinator is responsible for planning and administering program services of children and families; facilitate and coordinate meetings with families at site locations; build rapport with community agencies and build partnerships with community and state agencies; coordinate activities for families, and attend community meetings. The Family Services Coordinator/ Family Advocate is to coordinate support in a case management style and act as a liaison between families, staff, the community, and other family-related services. Lastly, they are to encourage all family members to become advocates for their children and family.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • At least 18 credit hours of coursework and training in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, child nutrition, health administration, and/or early childhood required at the time of hiring or within 18 months of employment.
  • Preferred credentials include registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in relevant fields.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • BA Degree in Human Development and Family Studies/Early Childhood Education.
  • Family Service Credential.
  • Master's degree preferred.
