SUMMARY This highly responsible manager oversees the daily activities of line service team members and supervisors who conduct aircraft fueling, towing, marshalling, aviation fuel quality control, safety inspections, and other critical aviation and airport operational functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of five years of aviation experience.
  • A minimum of three years supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience setting and implementing standards and operational guidelines.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Strong interpersonal management skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Extraordinary customer focus.
  • Able to problem solve independently or seek assistance.
  • Able to present information and respond to questions from department managers, co-workers, and customers.
  • Knowledge of general and commercial aviation operations and procedures.
  • Skilled with aviation and ground base radio systems or similar equipment.
  • Remains up to date on changing fueling regulations from various organizations.
  • Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status.
  • Able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, push, climb and walk for much of the workday.
  • Exposure to and handles hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall operation and management of the line service team members and supervisors within established operating procedures and regulations.
  • Leads by example while setting a positive and enthusiastic tone.
  • Ensures Line Service Technicians always operate safely while providing excellent customer service through the timely and accurate completion of service orders.
  • Completes scheduling and prioritizes assignments for line service team, offering active line service assistance as needed, to ensure optimal coverage of all shifts and appropriate staff levels during peak activity periods.
  • Manages schedules to ensure compliance with CCAA policies and procedures.
  • Operates all aircraft fueling operations per FAA requirements and airline standards.
  • Assists in the preventative maintenance (daily checks), cleanliness, and proper storage of all aircraft and FBO ground support equipment. Equipment shall be maintained to exceed industry standards and shall strive for 100% readiness.
  • Develops and promotes safety standards and ensures that safety protocols are followed by all personnel. Facilitates monthly safety meetings and ensures compliance with all company policies.
  • Ensures staff is fully trained utilizing NATA Safety 1st and recurrent training compliance.
  • Prepares and maintains reports and records of operation and inspections to determine compliance and effectiveness of existing methods.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and submits recommendations designed to improve efficiency, customer service or safety; submits monthly operations reports.
  • Maintains an effective and positive relationship with airport personnel, tenants, and customers.
  • Handles customer complaints and/or objectives on service and provides follow-up. Develops programs to improve customer relations. Documents all communications with customers.
  • Coordinates scheduling and time off requests for the line service team. Recommends manpower requirements.
  • Performs personnel actions such as interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Communicates with management all issues that may arise. Looks for ways to improve teamwork between all departments.
  • Responsible for ordering uniforms, safety equipment, fluids, fuels, and other supplies.
  • Assists FBO General Manager in fuel facility and FBO audits by outside agencies.
  • Biennially qualifies as a Fuel Quality Control Supervisor as per FAA Part 139.321.
  • Assists FBO General Manager in preparation of capital and budgetary requests for department.
  • Achieves, sustains, and exceeds performance numbers set by management. Looks for ways to reduce costs, overtime, and maximize sales.
  • Maintains company issued service standards, safety standards, security procedures, and training records.
  • Assists with planning and coordination of airport special events.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities in the absence of the FBO General Manager and delegates responsibilities to qualified personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
