Location Profile: Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM. Position Summary: Level One: Level one assembly operators work under direct supervision to interpret basic work instructions and safely operate/attend basic 2-5 component assembly machines to assemble a single fastener component. Level one will demonstrate competencies in basic shop math, basic print reading, mechanical aptitude, a basic understanding of assembly components, including form and function, and lube function for performance.

Requirements

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • The ability to use micrometer, caliper and optical comparator.
  • The ability to interpret basic drawing dimensions.
  • The ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • 0-1 years of experience.
  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Assemble components using hydraulic press or other equipment per written instructions.
  • Perform marking and identification operations per written instructions.
  • Use inspection gauges to measure dimensions
  • Read and interpret part drawings in English.
  • Help with dimensions inspection activities when required.
  • Organize workload.
