About The Position

The Fast Track Weld Program at Lippert University is designed to provide comprehensive training in welding, including 32 hours of CAD print reading, 32 hours of OSHA and equipment safety, and 80 hours of MIG welding. Participants will receive AWS MIG 1.1 Certification and will be part of a US Department of Labor Apprenticeship. The program runs for approximately 19 consecutive weekdays at Texas State Technical College, starting on June 2, 2025, and ending on June 26, 2025. Students will be compensated at a training rate for each of the 8-hour training days. Weekly examinations will determine eligibility to remain in the program. Additionally, candidates can earn $2,500 in retention bonuses within the first 6 months of employment after completion of the program, which will lead to a job at the Shiner, TX plant.

Requirements

  • Excellent work history.
  • Exemplary attendance record.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods in one location.
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, and turning.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

Responsibilities
