About The Position

The Fast and Fresh Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This role involves operating the cash register accurately, ensuring the cleanliness of the store, and managing the quality and quantity of products. The clerk will also tend to supply needs in the store and at the pumps, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to callers.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operates cash register accurately, scans products, and manages cash drawer levels.
• Redeems promotional coupons and processes various payment methods.
• Places merchandise in bags or boxes for customers.
• Assists with inventory and checks in delivered merchandise.
• Fills displays and stocks shelves.
• Maintains cleanliness of the lot and store, including shoveling snow and removing trash.
• Practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures a clean work area.
• Orders merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Prices products for customers as necessary.
