This Intermittent Worker position is designed to assist the podiatrist with comprehensive farrier services for both client-owned and CVM-owned horses, donkeys, and mules. The role involves routine hoof care, trimming, and preparing hooves for shoeing, as well as the actual shoeing of livestock when directed by faculty. Key responsibilities also include animal restraint during hoof care, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the farrier ship, managing inventory, ordering supplies, pulling shoes, and preparing feet for diagnostic imaging. Additionally, the worker will assist with medical records documentation and billing. Employees in intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year. The role requires working collaboratively in a team environment with doctors, staff, and students to deliver veterinary care and support the instruction of veterinary and veterinary technology students.
