About The Position

The position involves working as a Farmworker and Laborer in a large row crop farming operation. The role requires performing various agricultural tasks, including planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops, as well as caring for livestock. Workers will be exposed to extreme temperatures and will need to operate various types of machinery and tools to assist in the farming process.

Requirements

• 3 months of experience in agricultural work.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain a driver's license after hire.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and ability to perform extensive physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, and growth inhibitors.
• Attach/detach implements and clean work areas.
• Construct facilities and direct work during planting and harvesting.
• Identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds for pesticide and fertilizer application.
• Inform farm managers of plant or crop progress.
• Load and unload materials and commodities.
• Maintain grounds and landscaping, and manage inventory.
• Mix materials and operate machinery for planting and spreading.
• Participate in inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
• Tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, and providing general care.
• Perform tilling, transplanting, weeding, thinning, and pruning of crops.
• Use hand tools and operate various farming equipment.
