About The Position
The Farm Supervisor Agribusiness position at the State Farm Correctional Center involves performing daily duties of a large farm operation, which includes the production of row crops, vegetable crops, and managing a beef cattle program. The role also encompasses the maintenance of buildings, grounds, roadways, and the operation and maintenance of all farm equipment, utilizing an inmate workforce. The supervisor is responsible for providing training, supervision, and evaluation to the inmate workforce while performing all farm tasks. This is an hourly position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period from May 1 to April 30, regardless of the hire date. The hourly employment period resets on May 1 of the following year, and all hourly employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This position offers no state benefits.
