About The Position

The Farm/Ranch Hand position at Crandell Brother Joint Venture involves a variety of responsibilities related to livestock management and agricultural activities. This temporary full-time role is essential for ensuring the health and productivity of livestock while also supporting crop production activities.

Requirements

• Experience in livestock management and care.
• Ability to operate agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of animal health and veterinary care.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to livestock reproduction, including calving.
• Monitor food, mineral, and water supplies for livestock.
• Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures.
• Examine animals to detect illness, injuries, or diseases, and check physical characteristics such as rate of weight gain.
• Provide medical treatment, including administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians for extensive treatment.
• Repair fences and ensure livestock is contained.
• Work with horses as needed.
• Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos.
• Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
• Perform tasks such as crop baling or hay bucking, and operate stationary equipment for post-harvest tasks like husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning.
