Job Overview The Farm Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our farm operations. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across a variety of farm systems and equipment. From mechanical and electrical work to seasonal and facility upkeep, this role ensures that our farms operate smoothly day-to-day. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2+ years of maintenance or related experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and farm environments
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical and welding experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues across farm systems, including electronic sow feeders, ventilation, plumbing, and heating systems
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Maintain and repair farm equipment such as tractors, mowers, rear blades, and related tools
  • Adhere to all safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and biosecurity protocols
  • Complete seasonal and outdoor tasks, including snow plowing, mowing, weed trimming, and general grounds maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; assist with pressure washing and facility cleaning as needed
  • Track, organize, and maintain parts, tools, and inventory to ensure maintenance readiness
  • Communicate maintenance needs, completed work, and potential issues clearly with farm leadership
