About The Position

The Farm Foreman I position at Texas A&M University is a vital role within the Reproductive Sciences Complex (RSC) of the School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the daily care of research livestock, ensuring their health and well-being, and maintaining the farm facilities and equipment. The Farm Foreman I will work under general supervision, contributing to the overall mission of the university to provide high-quality veterinary education, research, and outreach programs. The role requires a commitment to animal husbandry, facility maintenance, and effective record-keeping, all while fostering a collaborative environment among staff and students. In this position, the Farm Foreman I will oversee daily livestock husbandry activities, which include deworming, sample collection, hoof trimming, and halter training. The foreman will also be responsible for the maintenance of the facility structure, scheduling repairs, and performing necessary construction tasks such as welding and fencing. Additionally, the foreman will maintain records related to herd health, feeding, and general facility maintenance, and assist in purchasing supplies and equipment as needed.
