Your Impact Manage financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, fiscal management, and forecasting. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and the client’s policies. Design the client’s financial statements, reports, and business activity reports. Monitor accounts, manage cash flow, and approve transactions like payroll and accounts payable/receivable. Assist with financial decision-making, risk management, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction. Provide industry-specific expertise on Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems and integrations. Oversee the management and deployment of fare collection systems and their components. Collaborate with engineering teams on system requirements, design, testing, and deployment. Ensure the smooth functionality and integration of AFC systems. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations affecting payments and finance.

Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related discipline is usually required.
  • Experience: Fifteen years or more, including prior experience as an accountant, financial analyst, and managing large-scale, complex fare payment projects.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) are highly beneficial.
  • Financial Acumen and Analysis: Must have a deep understanding of financial principles, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Required to be skilled with financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, as well as data analysis and economic modeling.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge: Expertise in automated fare collection (AFC) systems, open-loop payment systems, and related technology is critical.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Need a thorough understanding of financial regulations, particularly Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and the ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Leadership and Management: Must be able to lead and supervise a team, delegate tasks, and drive strategy within the department.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for explaining complex financial data to non-experts, preparing reports, and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic Planning: The ability to align financial initiatives with the client's long-term objectives is key.
  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and analytical skills are needed to find practical solutions to financial challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Overseeing complex fare payment system projects from design to delivery, coordinating with engineering and software development teams.
  • System Management: Managing the deployment, integrations, configurations, and maintenance of fare collection systems.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and performing economic analysis specific to fare collection activities.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Acting as a liaison with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success and contractual compliance.
