About The Position

The Supervised Visitation Program delivers high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive supervised and coached visitation services to parents involved in neglect or abuse proceedings in Rockland County. Visits occur in community settings designed to foster the re-establishment of bonds between parents and childrenbonds that may have been disrupted due to the removal of children or parents from their home environments. The purpose of supervised visitation is to provide a temporary, supportive framework, with the goal of transitioning parents toward less restrictive or unsupervised visitation. This program offers both traditional supervised visits and coached visitation. While traditional supervision involves monitors observing and documenting all aspects of the visit, coached visitation takes a more interactive and supportive approach. A visit coach collaborates with parents before the visit to plan, intervenes during the visit when necessary, and provides post-visit debriefing sessions with parentsand with children, when appropriate.
