Denver Human Services (DHS) is currently seeking a top-notch, highly-dedicated Lead Social Case Worker to join Child Welfare Services on its Family Time Program (FTP) team. The FTP Lead Social Case Worker will have an instrumental role on the team by assisting the Social Case Worker Supervisor with administering visitation case assignments to staff as well as coaching and mentoring staff and taking the lead on high level and complex visitation cases.

Requirements

  • Requirements as set forth in Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 and/or Volume 30 regulations
  • Three (3) years of post-graduation professional social case work experience at the type and level of Social Case Worker
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements
  • Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including after-school, evening, and weekend hours
  • Clinical experience with DORA registration
  • Currently possesses or is working towards their LPC, LSCW, or LMFT
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience
  • The ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
  • A positive, professional, and proactive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisor by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting child welfare information and data in the Trails System in order to ensure the accurate data compilation and analysis for the planning and implementation of visitation service changes
  • Maintain current supervisory certifications and participate in training the Social Case Worker staff
  • Demonstrate competencies and critical decision-making skills when working with problem solving visitation issues and assessments.
  • Assist the supervisor and perform supervisory roles in their absence
  • Lead by example and set a precedent for Visitation Social Case Workers and visitation paraprofessionals
  • Attend Family Time meetings and court hearings with Visitation Social Case Workers when needed
  • Work independently with little or no supervision
