About The Position

The Institute for Family Development (IFD) is an international leader in providing services that keep children safe, strengthen families, and reduce out of home placement. We provide a range of in-home counseling services, including the HOMEBUILDERS® model of Intensive Family Preservation Services, Functional Family Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and more. We are looking for therapists/counselors with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children, youth and families. We are currently hiring a full-time therapist in our HOMEBUILDERS® program, with the option of starting part-time and working up to full-time if desired. The ideal candidate will live in Pierce or Thurston county or be willing to relocate.

Requirements

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, human services or related field.
  • Undergraduate candidates must have at least two years' experience working with children and families.
  • Valid driver's license, a vehicle in good working condition, and automobile liability insurance that meets minimum agency requirements.
  • Residence in Pierce or Thurston county.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet client needs (including some evenings and weekends).
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check.
  • At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a small caseload of 2-3 families.
  • Work with families in their homes and community locations.
  • Schedule client sessions at times that are most helpful to families.
  • Maintain availability to respond to their assigned families, or arrange coverage within their team if unavailable.
