Job Description General Functions Assists in the implementation of treatment and educational programs for abused, neglected, and emotionally and socially handicapped children placed in residential care. Works closely with counselors and other staff to develop and implement programs to improve functioning of each child. An employee assigned to this position is responsible for the conduct and welfare of children placed in residential care. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Residential Services Supervisor and is reviewed through meetings, observations and achievement of desired results. Family Teacher Assistant Representative Duties/Assignments Develops strategies to address behavioral problems of youth in residential care. Ensures appropriate supervision of children at all times and notifies supervisors of unusual problems which may arise. Monitors children's physical condition and reports any medical needs to supervisor to assure proper attention and documentation. Transports children to and from scheduled activities and appointments. Prepares all required reports and ensures all documentation is accurate and processed in a timely and appropriate manner. Coordinates with casework or clinical staff in implementing treatment and case plans. Participates in staff meetings and in-service training. Implements educational and behavioral management goals and assists in development of those goals. Performs other related work as required. Youth Resident Coordinator Maintains continuous supervision of children at all times, notifying supervisors of unusual problems, which may arise. Assists in implementation of educational and behavioral management goals. Assesses children's problems to make appropriate applications of social learning techniques. Monitors children's physical condition and reports any medical needs to nurse and/or supervisor to assure proper attention and documentation. Supervises and/or participates in all activities planned for the children. Transports children to and from scheduled activities and appointments. Prepares all required reports and ensures all documentation is accurate and processed in a timely and appropriate manner. Participates in staff meetings and in-service training. Performs other related work as required.
