As a Family Support Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our team. Your responsibilities would include providing education, support, and skill-building services to families and children in home, school, and community settings. In short, our Family Support Specialist will empower families to strengthen their parenting and life skills, develop informal supports, and access the resources they need to thrive. Here’s who we are looking for… Someone who: Has a positive and reliable work ethic Holds experience working with children and families Can provide in-home, school, and community-based education and support Works collaboratively with case managers, therapists, and community providers to advocate for clients
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree holder in social work, human services, or a related field (lived experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Experienced in human services or child/family support (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Knowledgeable in child welfare, child development, and family functioning
- Skilled in documentation, communication, and crisis response
- At least 21 years old with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
Nice To Haves
- Experience facilitating parent workshops or educational groups
- Training in car seat safety, parenting education, or related areas
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages)
