About The Position

Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a nonprofit human service organization that is committed to increasing the social and emotional well-being of our clients – people throughout Fairfield County. Our Agency builds better lives by offering more than 30 programs that meet needs across all ages, delivering services to more than 13,000 people each year. Our clients reside primarily in Norwalk, Wilton, Darien, Westport, Weston, New Canaan, Stamford, and Greenwich. Our Home Care and Foster Care programs provide assistance to residents throughout Fairfield County, and the Adoption program is both nationwide and international. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or a related field preferred; a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum two years working with children and families, ideally in home-based or community settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and support families with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Professionalism, self-awareness, cultural competence, and compassion under challenging circumstances.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting strength-based assessments to identify needs, safety risks, and protective factors.
  • Developing and implementing individualized service plans focused on family reunification and stability.
  • Facilitating therapeutic family time to help parents and children rebuild trust and connection.
  • Providing parent coaching, education, and advocacy to enhance positive parenting practices.
  • Addressing issues such as substance use, domestic violence, mental health, poverty, cultural barriers, and parenting limitations through targeted interventions.
  • Collaborating with DCF, community partners, and natural supports to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintaining timely, accurate, and confidential case documentation.
  • Participating in team meetings, case reviews, and supervision to support professional growth.
  • Taking part in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide crisis intervention for IFP and RTFT clients.
