About The Position

The Family Support Coordinator at Beyond Blindness is responsible for coordinating family and community support initiatives aimed at empowering children with visual impairments and other disabilities. This role involves managing family check-ins, organizing events, and facilitating programs that promote holistic care and support for families. The coordinator will utilize strong communication and organizational skills to enhance the overall mission of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in family studies, social work, human services, communications or related fields, or comparable work experience.
• Experience in programs and event coordination.
• Knowledge in community outreach, family service, or case management.
• Proven customer relationship management skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

• Experience in social emotional learning programs.
• Familiarity with case management practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistic aspects of family and community events including venues, activity supplies, food, and registration.
• Assist in marketing and outreach efforts towards families for upcoming events and opportunities.
• Create, maintain, and track survey responses related to family support services.
• Support the Family Support Associate in program and curriculum development for various support programs.
• Represent Beyond Blindness at community meetings and outreach events.
• Conduct wellness check-in calls with current families to assess their needs.
• Process referrals and care management needs through check-ins and initial new client welcome calls.
• Facilitate Learning Link programs alongside the Family Support Associate.
