The Family Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that quality services are provided to families in need, utilizing sound professional judgment and adhering to established program standards. This position requires a compassionate individual who can effectively engage with families, providing them with the necessary support and resources to improve their circumstances. The coordinator will be responsible for outreach and recruitment of participants for various classes, establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with families through regular home visits, and administering intake assessments and screening tools to evaluate family needs. In addition to direct support, the Family Support Coordinator will schedule and plan family activities, serve as a liaison to community resources, and provide transportation to appointments and required program activities. Regular meetings with the Team Lead will be held to evaluate the status of families on the caseload, ensuring that all interactions and home visits are documented accurately. The coordinator will also be responsible for providing education on health and parenting, case management, and resource referrals, thereby playing a vital role in the overall well-being of the families served. To succeed in this position, the Family Support Coordinator must maintain current licenses and certifications, including First Aid and CPR, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are preferred to enhance communication with families. The role requires a proactive approach to managing time and responsibilities, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Family Support Coordinator will also be expected to participate in ongoing training and community education initiatives, contributing to the organization's mission of supporting families in need.
