About The Position

This position is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular long-term home visiting services and providing referrals to other needed support services. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: making weekly (or less frequent) home visits for a caseload of families; providing education on parenting, child development and child and home safety; completing child developmental and various parent screens; modeling and facilitating positive parent-child interactions using curriculum; assisting families in creating and achieving goals; linking families to community resources, as needed; completing and submitting all required documentation; participating in weekly supervision; attending required training, team meetings and community related events. Additional duties may include but are not limited to: Reviewing screens/referrals to determine eligibility Initiating outreach to potential participants Completing the HFFAT within 30 days of enrollment Making appropriate referrals for ancillary services.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Creole (preferred but not required)
  • Must have at a minimum, a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and at least one year of experience working with children or families
  • ability to establish trusting relationships
  • experience in working with or providing services to children and families
  • acceptance of individual differences
  • experience and humility to work with the culturally diverse populations which are present among the program's target population
  • knowledge of infant and child development
  • willingness to engage in building reflective capacity
  • Candidate must be computer literate and have the ability to complete documents in Microsoft Word
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills, and the ability to work independently conducting home visits within the community
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of participants in the program
  • Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their homes
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required)
  • This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
  • requires drug testing
