About The Position
Summary Purpose for the Position: To provide counseling and other support for tenants and their children at Visions or Susan B Anthony Apartments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of substance abuse issues, familiarity with community resources
- Ability to make linkages that foster community development required
- Ability to work independently
- General comprehension of DSS system
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
- Car available for work with proper insurance on said car.
- Flexible to work evening hours
- Ability to work with diverse client populations/issues
Responsibilities
- Provides counseling to tenants in areas such as parenting, money management, substance abuse/mental health support, problem solving, conflict resolution, etc.
- Ensures that the basic needs of all tenants are met
- Provides case management services focusing on goals contained in individual Family Service Plans.
- Plans and implements tenant community activities including children’s activities and programs.
- Plans and provides for tenant educational programs
- Conducts apartment safety and cleanliness checks
- Works with volunteers as needed to facilitate programs
- Works cooperatively with property management staff on site management, tenant issues, etc.
- Develops community connections that foster safety and upkeep
- Contacts tenants who are late with or behind in rent
- Completes monthly outreach tracking reports
- Completes Client Data Updates
- Provides ongoing crisis management and mediation
- Oversee Study Buddy program for their site
