Summary Purpose for the Position:
To provide counseling and other support for tenants and their children at Visions or Susan B Anthony Apartments
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of substance abuse issues, familiarity with community resources
Ability to make linkages that foster community development required
Ability to work independently
General comprehension of DSS system
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
Car available for work with proper insurance on said car.
Flexible to work evening hours
Ability to work with diverse client populations/issues
Responsibilities
Provides counseling to tenants in areas such as parenting, money management, substance abuse/mental health support, problem solving, conflict resolution, etc.
Ensures that the basic needs of all tenants are met
Provides case management services focusing on goals contained in individual Family Service Plans.
Plans and implements tenant community activities including children’s activities and programs.
Plans and provides for tenant educational programs
Conducts apartment safety and cleanliness checks
Works with volunteers as needed to facilitate programs
Works cooperatively with property management staff on site management, tenant issues, etc.
Develops community connections that foster safety and upkeep
Contacts tenants who are late with or behind in rent
