About The Position

The Family Services Administrator has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, and implementing the Family and Community Partnerships in the West Chester area for the Salvation Army of West Chester. He or She acts as a community liaison for the agency with local partners. The Family Services Administrator is the resource management, problem solver, grant writer, and developer of new or existing programs for The Salvation Army.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work Services field or Human Services field (MSW preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supervisory and management experience related programs (Non-profit organizations preferred)
  • Prior Experience with homeless, drug, alcohol and low-income individuals and families
  • Strong leadership ability, self-motivating, with experience leading a team
  • Training in trauma-informed care (Sanctuary Model Training) preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Must be detail oriented and a team player
  • Must have excellent strong verbal and written communication skills, with some successful proposal grant writing experience
  • High Level proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Computer literate to maintain e-mails account
  • Must be able to maintain flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evening if needed
  • Must always maintain confidentiality with Corps and client information
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check
  • Must understand and have an appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction for the Family Services Comprehensive Assistance Programs including food distribution and collection, hot meal program, utility assistance, clothing assistance, transportation, meal program, seasonal assistance, holiday assistance, Railton House Program and Permanent Housing Program.
  • Review Salvation Army programs at the West Chester Corps and determine 'best practices' concerning forms, policies/rules, procedures, and financial practices.
  • Create an environment for staff to work together more effectively to serve those in need.
  • Coordinate consumer workshops, conduct, or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences to promote the intellectual, social, and physical welfare of consumers.
