About The Position

The Family Service Counselor (Sales) at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory is responsible for establishing professional relationships with client families to meet their needs during times of grief or for pre-need arrangements. This role emphasizes excellent service, compliance with regulations, and revenue generation while maintaining the confidentiality of client information. The counselor will also engage in community outreach to promote services and build relationships that lead to referrals.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in outside sales production strongly preferred.
  • Possession (or ability to obtain) an insurance license as required by applicable state law.
  • Valid state issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; bilingual is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish professional relationships with client families to meet their needs at the time of need or on a pre-need basis.
  • Provide tours and guide families to cemetery lot locations.
  • Build relationships and ensure excellent service while attending services and visitations for client families.
  • Schedule and conduct aftercare appointments to ensure client family satisfaction and obtain referrals.
  • Ensure compliance with state and industry regulations and company policies by accurately completing required documents.
  • Maintain strict adherence to pricing structures and submit all contracts and required documents to the Business Office.
  • Report progress to the Sales Manager and submit all required reports timely.
  • Develop new prospects and community-based contacts through presentations at business locations and public events.
  • Sustain positive communication and cooperation with all funeral homes and team members.
  • Meet or exceed company standards in revenue generation to maintain employment and benefits eligibility status.
  • Protect confidentiality of company and client family information.
  • Participate in all required training initiatives.
  • Identify and respond to all hazards at location and on grounds.
