About The Position
The Family Service Coordinator at KVC Health Systems plays a crucial role in coordinating services for children and their foster families, ensuring their safety, permanency, and overall well-being. This position is based in Lawrence and Olathe, Kansas, and requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about working with children and families. The coordinator will be responsible for extensive driving to meet with families and children, providing support and crisis intervention as needed. The role involves participating in the recruitment and training of foster families, as well as providing ongoing support and crisis response to these families. The coordinator will also attend various meetings, including case plan conferences and court hearings, to advocate for the children in foster care. In addition to direct support, the Family Service Coordinator will assess the needs of clients and foster families, offering referrals to community resources and ensuring that all paperwork is completed in accordance with agency policies. The position requires a strong commitment to meeting performance expectations and regulatory timelines, as well as the ability to supervise social work interns and provide field instruction. The coordinator will also monitor children for signs of abuse or neglect and report any incidents as required. This role is essential in developing new services and meeting therapy hour requirements set by the supervisor, while also attending mandatory training sessions to stay updated on best practices in the field.
