About The Position

We are seeking a Family Service Advocate/Center Aide at our Cape Cod Hill Early Learning Center, located in New Sharon. A Family Service Advocate is part of a team, providing support and resources to enrolled families in the center. This position is 20 hours and generally follows a school-year calendar.

Pay Range: $18.44-$19.69/hour depending on education and experience.

This position is currently eligible for an additional monthly wage supplement through the State of Maine Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement Program. The tiered supplements are currently in payments of

Requirements

• Minimum H.S. diploma or GED, with commitment to complete credential in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field within 18 months of hire
• Ability to obtain a State of Maine Ed Tech Certification upon hire
• Minimum 1 year experience working with families and/or children
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry and perform other high-energy activities
• A valid driver's license
• Competency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to function autonomously and as part of a team
• Ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, Maine Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment
• Valid driver’s license and travel within the service area is required

Responsibilities

• Engage with families to collaboratively build partnerships to identify strengths and needs
• Maintain records, including medical and immunizations for enrolled children
• Encourage and support family’s engagement in their child’s development
• Support families in organizing activities, committees, and educational workshops
• Collaborate with families to establish a source of continuous, accessible, coordinated developmental, health, and dental care
