About The Position

The Family Resource Specialist at Metropolitan Ministries is responsible for providing mobile family services to support homeless and at-risk families in the Tampa Bay area. This role involves assessing immediate needs, developing case plans, and connecting clients with community resources to promote housing, employment, and financial stability. The specialist will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including schools and community service providers, to ensure comprehensive support for families in need.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in the human services field.
• Two years of work experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of homeless issues and experience with mental health/substance abuse issues.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework.

Responsibilities

• Provides mobile family services and conducts home visits.
• Utilizes motivational interviewing to develop case plans for clients.
• Coordinates and refers clients to appropriate community partners for services.
• Maintains an ongoing caseload of up to 40 family cases and tracks their progress.
• Provides transition support for children changing schools.
• Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet program outcomes.
• Maintains up-to-date client case notes and history while ensuring confidentiality.
• Participates in onsite school events to promote program services.
