About The Position

Are you a compassionate and resourceful individual dedicated to helping families thrive? We're seeking a Bilingual Family Resource Navigator to join our team and provide essential support to families with young children (prenatal to age 6) in Washington County. In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for families seeking assistance, conducting comprehensive assessments, and connecting them with critical resources. The hiring range is $22.86 - $25.15 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in eligibility determination, including phone and face-to-face client intake and information delivery. (Step 3 on the Oregon Registry or equivalent is preferred.)
  • Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs. Experience with data entry and a high degree of accuracy is essential.
  • Compassion & Communication: Strong ability to work effectively with diverse families, de-escalate crisis situations, and provide trauma-informed client services. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Resourcefulness: Knowledge of early childhood development and an understanding of diverse cultural, geographic, economic, and social issues impacting families. Ability to adapt to changing client needs and make independent decisions.
  • Collaboration: Experience coordinating with other professionals and social service agencies.
  • Driver's License: Valid Oregon driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Certifications (Ability to Obtain within 6 Months): Oregon ONE Eligibility training, Healthy Families Oregon training, Find Child Care Oregon referral training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone based, virtual or face-to-face comprehensive assessment interviews with households that live in Washington County.
  • Connecting families to a wide range of programs like Help Me Grow (HMG) Prenatal to Three, Healthy Families (HF), Community Action Resource Eligibility Assessment (CARE), and Find Child Care Oregon (FCCO).
  • Assisting with program screenings and applications in a professional and trauma-informed manner.
  • Providing essential care coordination, education, and advocacy for families, including information on child development and quality childcare options.
  • Independently allocate resources to households based on assessment results and knowledge of Community Action and community resources.
  • Enrolling individuals in the Oregon Health Plan.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential client records across multiple databases.
  • Building collaborative relationships with service providers and diverse client populations.
