Requirements

• Certificate Graduation Family Medicine Residency - Required
• Doctorate in Medicine - Required
• Physician License (DR) - State Licensing Board -AND- American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) - Required - OR - American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ABOFP) - Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association - Preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association - Preferred
• Advanced Life Support Obstetrics (ALSO) - American Academy of Family Physicians - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of the residency program including policy and curriculum development, accreditation, resident recruitment, and resident evaluations.
• Supervise and mentor residents and students; provides opportunities for growth, advice, and feedback to encourage professional development.
• Lead by example and demonstrates problem solving, empathy, accountability, and discipline.
• Conduct research in primary care medicine and looks for ways to improve and progress patient care.
• Provide direct teaching in the FMC, including procedural skills and an overview of FM inpatient rotations, may include obstetrics practice labor and delivery, and post-partum care.
• Oversee staffing and ensures that procedures carried out in the FMC and hospital have adequate staff coverage.
• Maintain a medical practice in the Family Medicine Center (FMC) and provides direct patient care.
• Manage the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.
