About The Position

The Family Physician position at UCHealth Primary Care Lone Tree Clinic is an open rank role within the Senior Instructor Series, focusing on providing comprehensive family and sports medicine care. The role involves direct patient care, teaching medical students and residents, and participating in administrative and quality improvement activities. The position emphasizes a commitment to patient care, research, and community engagement, aligning with the Department of Family Medicine's mission to heal, teach, discover, and connect.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO).
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine with Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine.
  • Graduation from an accredited Family Medicine Residency program and Sports Medicine Fellowship.
  • Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and current DEA Certificate.
  • Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an interprofessional, integrated practice/patient-centered medical home (PCMH) environment.
  • Interest in education and research and faculty development.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.
  • Experience providing Telehealth/virtual visits.
  • Advanced Ultrasound skills (RMSK certification).
  • 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full scope direct patient care in an ambulatory clinical setting.
  • Care for sports medicine patients, including non-operative management of acute and chronic injuries and diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures.
  • Provide PRN coverage for collegiate or professional sports teams as needed.
  • Participate in chart review and clinical coding compliance activities.
  • Assist in the supervision of advanced practice providers at the clinic.
  • Engage in administrative and clinical quality improvement functions as directed by the medical director.
  • Educate fellows, residents, and medical students during their rotations.
  • Maintain eligibility for School of Medicine Faculty and keep abreast of developments in the field.
  • Attend and present at conferences and trainings to maintain certification and enhance professional skills.
