About The Position

Since our opening in 1987, New Hope Treatment Centers has been a welcoming place for young people in moments of crisis. The Family Partner provides assessment, counseling, and treatment services to adolescents involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and family support services.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adolescents, substance abuse treatment, or justice-involved youth preferred
  • Lived experience as a caregiver or family member of a child with behavioral health or system involvement strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support and mentorship to families of youth receiving services within the DJJ Mental Health Program.
  • Assist families in understanding the behavioral health treatment process and navigating community resources and service systems.
  • Encourage family participation in treatment planning, meetings, and services to support youth progress and recovery.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, residential staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Support families in developing advocacy skills to effectively communicate their needs within the mental health and juvenile justice systems.
  • Facilitate family engagement activities, education sessions, and support groups when appropriate.
  • Help families identify strengths and develop strategies that promote stability, resilience, and successful reunification when applicable.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program requirements and organizational policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision as required.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with program standards, ethical guidelines, and confidentiality regulations.
