About The Position

As part of the Youth Mobile Outreach Team, the Family Partner utilizes personal and professional experiences to provide peer support to parents and caregivers. Share own life experiences as supportive service. Provides mobile response and stabilization services for youth in crisis, with on-call rotation required. Primary focus is on supporting and maintaining youth in their current living situation, promoting safe behavior at home, school and community, and assisting youth and families in accessing and linking to ongoing support and services. The goal is to reduce the use of emergency departments, hospital boarding and detention centers due to a behavioral health crisis. The schedule for this role is mostly Saturday-Monday 10 hour shift, but may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours to meet the needs of client families served. Schedule: Saturday through Monday, 8am to 7pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have had prior experience as a caregiver for a child or youth who has received behavioral health services.
  • Eligible for Youth & Family Peer Counselor certification provided by the Washington State Healthcare Authority: https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providers-partners/program-information-providers/peer-support
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
  • In compliance with state and federal law, Comprehensive Healthcare requires all candidates to complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check. Responsibilities

  • Conducts CANS screening and CANS full assessments.
  • Demonstrates and utilizes knowledge and understanding of behavioral health problems in children, youth and young adults.
  • Utilizes appropriate crisis intervention techniques for clients stabilization.
  • Provides support and education to encourage clients to take medications as prescribed.
  • Participates in providing a variety of support services for youth and caregivers (e.g. support groups, family activities, recognition events).
  • Participates in the after-hours call coverage schedule rotation.
