Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification from a recognized certifying body.
  • Valid nursing license in the state of [State].
  • Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred but not required in psychiatric care, preferably in an outpatient or behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including physical exams, mental health evaluations, and health histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patients for side effects and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding health management, mental health issues, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay current with best practices in family medicine and behavioral health.
  • Completes other administrative support duties and special projects as developed and assigned.
