About The Position

Nashville’s original community-based hospital, NGH, along with its two satellite clinics, is Joint Commission accredited and provides a wide range of services including emergency, acute, ancillary, and ambulatory care. NGH is committed to serving the healthcare needs of Nashville and Davidson County's underserved population, while also extending care to all community segments. The Family Nurse Practitioner role involves providing comprehensive patient care, managing illnesses, offering preventative care, collaborating with healthcare teams, educating patients, maintaining medical records, participating in quality improvement, and engaging in community health initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • TN State License and Certification as an FNP
  • Minimum 2 of years of experience as an FNP required.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Dedication to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Provide education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and overall wellness.
  • Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Counsel patients and families on healthcare options, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency.
  • Contribute to community health initiatives and patient outreach programs when necessary.
