The position involves performing routine and non-routine physical examinations of patients, collecting and maintaining patient information, ordering and interpreting medical tests, and providing treatment and care in a culturally sensitive environment. The role also includes collaboration with healthcare professionals, monitoring patient conditions, advising on health and wellness, and ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols.

  • Perform routine and non-routine physical examinations of patients.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information.
  • Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests and interpret results.
  • Perform minor procedures to treat skin conditions and injuries.
  • Provide care for women during pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and vaccinations.
  • Explain medical procedures and discuss test results with patients.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or health resources.
  • Coordinate treatment plans with healthcare providers.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and re-evaluate treatments.
  • Advise patients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Train and assist residents and medical students.
  • Provide clinical advice for health programs in the community.
  • Prepare official health documents and patient records.
  • Conduct research to increase knowledge about medical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Stay current on developments in the field of medicine.
  • Contribute to the overall quality of the unit's service provision.
  • Completion of Nursing program with clinical rotation including Primary Care, Family Practice, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner from any U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
  • Current DEA License.
  • Current New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration.
  • Current ACLS/PALS certification.
