We are seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Urgent Care team. This position primarily involves day and evening shifts, including participation in a Saturday morning urgent care rotation. There is no overnight call responsibility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our busy orthopedic surgeons, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and all members of the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care to outpatient orthopedic urgent care patients, encompassing both pediatric and adult populations. This role is based in an office setting, primarily located at the Saunders Orthopaedic Center, seeing patients with a variety of acute orthopaedic injuries. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential. Orthopaedic outpatient experience is preferred, but not required. The APP will also participate in educating students and APP orthopaedic fellows. Candidates must possess or be eligible for New York licensure.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing
  • Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner
  • Physician Assistant: Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program
  • Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing
  • Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • Demonstrate clinical competence
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills
  • Computer competence
  • Active desire to learn
  • Participation in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training
