A wonderful opportunity exists in the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Surgery to work as part of a multidisciplinary Plastic Surgery team. This position serves a unique role in providing care for a broad range of Plastic Surgery patients. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills to provide direct patient care to outpatient ambulatory patients of all ages. The individual will collaboratively care for plastic surgery patients within a multidisciplinary team Ambulatory duties include the evaluation and management of patients undergoing abdominal wall reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, breast reconstruction and other cancer diagnoses, hand/facial fractures, skin lesions, gender-affirming procedures including genital surgery, and other plastic surgery diagnoses. This individual would perform independent patient evaluation and management including pre- and post-operative management and coordination of home services, and some basic procedural interventions. As an autonomous provider, the APP will be able to bill for clinic and procedural services. This individual should possess excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to think critically. A vital and valued part of the team, the APP ensures continuity of care for all patients. There is financial support and encouragement to attend CME-accredited conferences both nationally and regionally. There are no night, weekend, or holiday responsibilities. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Physician Assistant Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to outpatient ambulatory patients of all ages.
  • Collaboratively care for plastic surgery patients within a multidisciplinary team
  • Evaluation and management of patients undergoing abdominal wall reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, breast reconstruction and other cancer diagnoses, hand/facial fractures, skin lesions, gender-affirming procedures including genital surgery, and other plastic surgery diagnoses.
  • Perform independent patient evaluation and management including pre- and post-operative management and coordination of home services, and some basic procedural interventions.
  • Bill for clinic and procedural services.
  • Ensure continuity of care for all patients.
  • Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
