About The Position
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at the Gate Parkway location. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the practice. The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting: Obtaining patient history, performing physical examinations, ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formulating a diagnostic impression, developing and implementing a treatment plan, monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, offering counseling and education to meet patient needs, making appropriate referrals, and prescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policies. Additionally, the role involves demonstrating the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpreting information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. The position also includes assisting with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy development, as well as participating in other departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed. The candidate will work in a team structure which includes a residency program.
