About The Position

The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide direct care within the tribal clinic, the home, and the community. This role requires functioning independently within established protocols and the scope of practice outlined by the State of Wisconsin Board of Nursing. The practitioner will serve as a member of clinic management teams, providing technical direction, supervision, and consultation as needed. Responsibilities include establishing protocols for managing specific acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians, drafting and implementing referral systems to other health providers/agencies, and serving as a technical consultant for Purchased and Referred Care authorization and review. The practitioner will also collaborate with the Clinic Administrator to develop written policies, procedures, and guidelines for a total health care program, participate in studies relevant to health care and nursing needs, and provide professional supervision to clinic staff.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a B.S.N. from an institution accredited by NLN.
  • Masters of Science in Nursing with clinical emphasis.
  • Current RN and FNP license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • BLS, PALS, ACLS certification, to be renewed annually.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and eligibility for tribal insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as an FNP in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities
