About The Position

To perform basic duties related to overall patient services at the Tri-County Community Action Agency. The physician is a licensed, autonomous provider executing professional clinical judgment in the care of his/her patients, according to the clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the Agency. The physician is responsible for providing comprehensive primary medical care to patients, within the limits of the training and licensure of a physician. The physician works in a collaborative manner with other members of the patient care team to facilitate care. Responsibilities include on-site patient care, on-site prenatal care and after hours on-call coverage to facilitate the provision of clinical advice, and may include off-site obstetric care.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from and accredited medical school
  • Board Certification (or board eligible, with timeline for completion) in Family Medicine
  • Unrestricted RI license to practice medicine
  • Active Federal DEA License and RI controlled substance license
  • Pediatric admitting privileges at a minimum of one area hospital, if performing off-site obstetric care as part of contracted services
  • Adult/Family Medicine admitting privileges at an area hospital, if performing off-site inpatient adult medicine and/or resident supervision as part of contracted services
  • Family Medicine privileges at an area outpatient practice, if performing off-site outpatient medical care and/or resident supervision as part of contracted services
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Participating in In-service, Orientation, Committee, Supervision and Staff meetings.
  • Attending relevant training/conferences as requested/directed by the Medical Director, COO/Health Center Director and/or President/CEO (This may require out-of-state travel).
  • Supporting the mission of the Tri-County Community Action Agency and the Health Center in the community by acting as a liaison between the Health Center and the wider health professional community.
  • Participating in continuing education programs, including one (1) annual training program on compliance with OSHA's Blood borne Pathogen Standard.
