  • Assesses the patient's condition and medical needs, sets goals and utilizes appropriate clinical actions to achieve goals
  • Provide direct health care services in an effective and professional manner, including prevention/education, screening, urgent care, primary care, evaluations, counseling/therapeutic treatment, crisis response and other services
  • Provides health services to patients of all age groups according to recognized standards of care
  • Ensures that direct patient services are provided in an effective, culturally appropriate manner
  • Identifies and reports on problems/issues relative to access, barriers to services, and unmet needs
  • Develops infrastructure and innovative services/projects in response to managed care
  • Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of all patient visits and encounters
  • Ensures support staff follow physician orders
  • Ensures that medical equipment is maintained, monitors medical supplies and orders when necessary
  • Assists with maintaining stock levels
  • Records and reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to medical staff
  • Administers medications and performs routine and complex procedures and treatments
  • Provides urgent care/emergency services
  • Establishes guidelines for triage, trains staff in triage, and assists in handling triage calls
  • Ensures that patient medical records contain the necessary information
  • Work collaboratively with in-house and community providers for referrals and services
  • Documents labs, cultures, ensures follow-up on abnormal results
  • Follows patient safety related policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety
  • Identify and report conditions or situations which may put a patient at undue risk
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that he/she does not understand
  • Perform other duties as requested by CMO
  • Licensed and certified as a physician in the State of New Mexico
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
