About The Position

The Family Justice Center Navigator at Harmony House is responsible for providing trauma-informed assistance to domestic violence survivors as they navigate various services. This role serves as the initial point of contact for clients, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources to address their needs effectively. The Navigator works closely with multiple agencies to facilitate access to services and maintain client safety and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or commensurate experience in social/human services.
  • Previous experience working with domestic violence survivors or in human services preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of victim issues, including training in victimology and crisis intervention.
  • Strong customer service skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in crisis intervention and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Familiarity with community resources for domestic violence survivors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential, trauma-informed client services as outlined in the Greene County Family Justice Center Operations Manual and Harmony House policies.
  • Complete the FJC intake process with clients, including screening, assessments, and safety plans.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention as needed.
  • Review available services with clients and facilitate connections to partner services.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their safety and advocacy needs are met.
  • Review documentation for compliance with program guidelines.
  • Generate required forms and reports for the FJC intake process.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from survivors and partner agencies.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as requested by supervisors.
  • Complete required domestic violence and sexual violence training within the first year and annually thereafter.
  • Collaborate with partnering agencies to provide comprehensive support to clients.
