About The Position

Provides intake assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine appropriate level of care and treatment. Provides family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Participates in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Provides case management services for all patients. Manages patients mental health benefits, and keeps informed of all information regarding the patients treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call on as needed basis. Requirements

  • Master's level in Social Work or related field
  • Child growth and development education required
  • Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW, LCSW or LPC
  • CPR Heartsaver within 60 days of start date
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 must be completed within 60 days of start date
  • Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in family therapy
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
